Orthodontics is a specialty in which the development of teeth is controlled and treatment promotes the correction of proper retraction of teeth with the facial bones. In addition to a positive change in the esthetic appearance, orthodontic treatment delays aging of the face, improves speech, facilitates easier oral hygiene and enhances chewing. In our clinic we treat malocclusions (improper bites) for children and adults with the help of either removable or fixed devices.
Typical orthodontic treatment with a fixed device consists of the following steps:
- Proper examination and preparation of diagnostic material (clay models, x-rays, pictures).
- Plan of action pertaining to the treatment is established.
- Introduction and orthodontic apparatus.
- Regular controlled visits throughout the treatment period (approx. 1.5-2.5 years).
- Picture of the results and comparison after treatment.
- Maintenance with retainers.
